Video Of The Day: Fredrik

I feel lucky I’ve gotten to see Swedish electronic trio Fredrik twice. Lucky in that I love their music and in that they don’t tour the U.S. that often. With that said, you can imagine I was glad to see they are releasing a remix EP,Ornament. It’s out today with The Kora Records plus a string of  West Coast dates following several appearances at SXSW.

Ornament is a collection of remixes from Fredrik’s 2011 album FLORA along with the new instrumental track ‘Fever and Foam‘ that was originally intended to close side A of the FLORA vinyl. As noted by their label, its nods to the great horror movie soundtracks of the 70’s, the EP makes a dramatic and colorful addition to the Fredrik catalogue.

Pat Ferrise grew up loving ”the punk rock” and “new wave.” His years at one of the nation’s top college radio stations ultimately led him to a 15-year run as music director of alternative music icon WHFS Washington/Baltimore. Rolling Stone magazine named him of the most influential programmers of the 90s. He’s recorded two albums under the moniker Trampoline for the now defunct SpinArt label. He lives in Baltimore and takes no credit for writing this bio.
