Video of the Day | Americanarama Edition: Wilco (live)

The Americanarama Festival of Music tour — featuring Bob Dylan, Wilco, My Morning Jacket and Ryan Bingham — is undoubtedly the summer’s best gathering of (Caucasian) music lovers. Tonight, it rolls into Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, before continuing across your land (and my land!) until August 4th in Google’s hometown (on Bill Graham Drive, no less).

With four incredible performers, audiences would be well-advised to get there early for the alt-country stylings of Ryan Bingham and stay through the bittersweet end with the incomparable Robert Zimmerman. The middle is no joke, either, with sure to be incendiary performances from My Morning Jacket and Wilco. Chicago’s finest seemingly visit the greater 202 area annually, including this acoustic set they performed for NPR Music in late 2011.

Behrnsie has a love for music that dare not speak its name. He attends many shows and can often be found counting out the beats for no discernible reason. He played alto saxophone in his middle school jazz band, where he was best known for infuriating his instructor when it was revealed that he played everything by ear, and could not in fact read music. He takes great pride that this is the same talent/affliction that got Tori Amos kicked out of the Peabody Academy. He does not live in his parents’ basement….except during the holidays.
