Here’s a link to M.I.A.’s controversial new R-rated video called “Born Free.” As music videos are increasing becoming viewed solely on the internet, records labels, band management, and musical artists are wanting to push the envelope with racy material, episodic story lines, and cinematic filmmaking to generate internet buzz and hopefully sell their songs and albums. Having not have to adhere to network standards and fit their piece into 3 or 4 minute time slots allows the creativity to flourish. This all bodes well for the return longer, epic, dramatic music videos and comedic music videos with high end production value.
