Roundup: Wallflowers Team Up With Mick Jones, Thurston Moore is 54 Today

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from The Wallflowers, well they are back with “Reboot the Mission”, their new single featuring the legendary Mick Jones of  Big Audio Dynamite and The Clash. It’s a new feel for the band, and is a bit in the vein of “The Magnificent Seven”.  Download it at the band’s website and look for the new Wallflowers album, Glad all over, October 2nd.

Snow Patrol have permission to play until 1am at London’s Hyde Park on Friday for a concert coinciding with the 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremony. The Bill features bands from all the countries of the U.K., including Duran Duran representing England, Scottish singer Paolo Nutini, and Welsh band Stereophonics.

Brendan Benson and Readymade Records announced the launch of Readymade Films. This new film wing of Brendan’s own label, Readymade Records, will produce music videos, documentaries, live show footage and more.

Sonic Youth‘s Thurston Moore turns 54 today.
