Roundup: Smiths Are Still Broken Up, McCready Side Project Has New Life

The Smiths have dispelled yet anther rumor that they’re reuniting. “The rumour of the Smiths reunion is untrue. It’s not happening,” said Johnny Marr on Facebook. “Thanks to those with Hearts and Smarts. I don’t know where this stuff starts. Not from me. I got things to do.”

Pearl Jam‘s Mike McCready indicated that there might be enough leftover Mad Season material to release an album. The band was McCready’s side project, along with the late Alice in Chains singer Layne Staley.

UK’s Omnibus Press is publishing Hot Wired Guitar: The Life of Jeff Beck on May 1. It’s already available as an e-book, says Guitar World.

Thomas Marth, who played sax on tour with The Killers, was found dead of an apparent suicide.
