Want to know who’s really metal? Rick Santorum, that’s who. One could be forgiven for thinking so, now that Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine has endorsed him. Mustaine, who recently converted to Christianity, told MusicRadar.com: “You know, I think Santorum has some presidential qualities, and I’m hoping that if it does come down to it, we’ll see a Republican in the White House… and that it’s Rick Santorum.” And here we thought Mustaine would go for Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe, who’s announced his presidential ambitions.
The Museum of Modern Art in New York will host Kraftwerk for a series of live performances in April, each featuring one of their albums in its entirety. According to the New York Times, projected images (some in 3-D) will accompany the music.
Green Day has entered the studio to begin work on its next album. Much of the material has been previewed in live shows. Meanwhile, John Lydon and Public Image, Ltd. will release its first new material in 20 years–an EP entitled One Drop. It hits on Record Store Day, April 21.
Texas blues-rock great Johnny Winter is getting the documentary treatment. Greg Oliver, who recently profiled Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister, will shadow Winter this year, and release the film in 2013. And speaking of blues-rock icons, Gregg Allman’s autobiography, My Cross to Bear, hits shelves in April, as he announced on his Facebook page.
