Jack White and Skrillex top the bill of this year’s Virgin Mobile FreeFest, which will take place Oct. 6 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. Also performing on the two main stages: ZZ Top, Santigold, Das Racist, Ben Folds Five and Nas. The “Dance Forest” will feature Above & Beyond, Thomas Gold, Nervo, Alvin Risk and Penguin Prison.
This is the fourth year the festival has been put on as a free event at Merriweather, after three years as a paid event at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. Festival tickets are typically exhausted in under five minutes. According to festival producer Seth Hurwitz, because tickets get claimed almost instantaneously, “we can wait until much later than most festivals to book the absolute best stories of the moment.”
Tickets will be available at noon eastern on Aug. 24 via Ticketfly.com, but if you follow @virginmlive on Twitter, you’ll see a presale link on Aug. 23.
