Gang of Four, back on tour in 2011!

I’m usually leery of the “reunion tours”, but there are some good exceptions like: The Pixies, Bauhaus and Gang of Four.  I saw Gang of Four at a small club in Baltimore about three years ago  and was blown away by how tight, and powerful they are live, and was especially struck by how frenetic and charismatic front man Jon King still is.  The band is gearing up to release “Ultimate Content Can” that includes lyrics, artwork, a scratch-and-sniff booklet and something extra creepy- “vials of band members’ blood.”  They are only doing 13 dates in North America. If you’re in DC, catch them February 11th at the 930 club, you will be very glad you did.

Pat Ferrise grew up loving ”the punk rock” and “new wave.” His years at one of the nation’s top college radio stations ultimately led him to a 15-year run as music director of alternative music icon WHFS Washington/Baltimore. Rolling Stone magazine named him of the most influential programmers of the 90s. He’s recorded two albums under the moniker Trampoline for the now defunct SpinArt label. He lives in Baltimore and takes no credit for writing this bio.
