11.52AM: Day 2 of ACL begins…today’s ACL Fest is brought to you by 4 words …Neil Young Crazy Horse!

12.15PM: stopped for a second to listen to a bit of Caveman…hmmm…I’m gonna chalk it up to the singer not being able to hear himself and keep on walkin’.

12.35pm: from the tiny stage at Bonnaroo to the main stage at ACL, Civil Twilight is a band from S. Africa now residing in NasVegas (who isn’t these days) that is starting to truly make its mark…imagine U2 meets Radiohead if you will…and you should!

1.10pm: A simply terrific set from Civil Twilight…expect big and good things from the guys!

2.00pm: VERY cool interview with D.C. singer songwriter Justin Jones…very smart guy with such a wonderfully interesting attitude towards art, songwriting and music…this guy is definitely worth checking out…he had a GREAT set yesterday.

2.45: World music’s representative (from Costa Rica) Sonambulo is totally kickin’ with that funky Latin groove you just gotta love…a CRAZY Latin dance party has broken out in the Zilker tent!

3.15pm: Oberhofer is tearing it up with uber energetic brand of psychedelic post-punk…just as good as their breakout performance this year at Coachella…a perfect call for this slot on the Barton Springs Stage.

4.05pm: Metric draws a HUGE crowd on the main stage …it’s very cool to see this band grow from opening act for MUSE to a full fledged headliner…they wear it well!

4.20pm: Metric is creating a very modern sound with a stage full of 80s equipment…Marshall tube amps, Ampeg bass heads and a shitload of Prophet synths…nothing makes that fatass, analog, big bottom sound like a Prophet 600…haven’t seen them since I played one in college…they’re making a killer sound.

4.40pm: Michael Kiwanuka just continues to impress with his smooth heartfelt soul tinged singer/songwriter fare…his British accent on between songs banter is surprising as one would not think of this sound coming from across the pond…great stuff!

5.30pm:And Noah’s effin’ flood has set in…ACL Mudfest!

5.45pm: I was able to check out the totally rockin’ chic fronted Band of Skulls from the media tent during the rain…they kicked ass!

6.00pm: Chris Thile of The Punch Brothers is truly one of the greatest musicians in the world…PERIOD!…and the rest of the bros. are no slouches either.

6.20pm: And the anger still lingers on…my 2008 Bonnaroo shirt was just spied and an all too familiar “Fuck Kanye” rang out…if you know then you know.

7.15pm: Diggin’ the classic sounds of outlaw country legend Steve Earle…” This song is for W and his fuckin’ wars “…so sayeth Mr.Earle.

8.10pm: Four words…Neil Young…Crazy Horse…that is all.

Clem emerged from the underbelly of NashVegas where he began his love of ALL things musical. College found him in the commercial music program at the University of Miami where he actually learned what the hell he was doing. New York was next and whether he “made it there” is still up for debate. From playing in the honky-tonks of Nashville and the dance clubs of Miami to Broadway and theatrical stages around the country, to Carnegie Hall (while practicing one day somebody told him how to get there) and the recording studios of New York and L.A., Clem’s variety of musical experience has transcended the boundaries of genre. He owns a production company, lectures on music in colleges across the country and is on the visiting faculty of Elon Univ. He has a port-o-johns named after him at Bonnaroo, Coachella and Lollapalooza.
