Well, this is just perfect. A city built on artifice gets an artificial version of a once-great band. Guns N Roses have announced a 12-date residency at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Slash wants to appear on Sesame Street.

David Bowie, the Sex Pistols, Kate Bush and the Rolling Stones are among the artists who turned down an offer to play the Olympic closing ceremonies.

Melissa Etheridge will receive the National Museum of Women in the Arts’ Award for Excellence in the Performing Arts in November. She’ll perform an acoustic set at the NMWA in Washington during the ceremony.
