Live Blog: Firefly Music Festival

Well, they have no shortage of hubris, that’s for sure. The kids putting on the 2nd annual Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware are proudly billing themselves as “The East Coast’s Premier Music Experience.” So, they’ve go that going for them. They’ve also got a bunch of interesting bands, most of which have already played a bunch of the other major festivals this year or last year — including at least one on the East Coast (cough cough). Not to mention….Delaware doesn’t have any sales tax, so they’ve got that going for them, too!

We’ll be live blogging the Festival all weekend long and discussing bands that include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Public Enemy, Vampire Weekend, Lord Huron, Matt & Kim, and MORE!

Behrnsie has a love for music that dare not speak its name. He attends many shows and can often be found counting out the beats for no discernible reason. He played alto saxophone in his middle school jazz band, where he was best known for infuriating his instructor when it was revealed that he played everything by ear, and could not in fact read music. He takes great pride that this is the same talent/affliction that got Tori Amos kicked out of the Peabody Academy. He does not live in his parents’ basement….except during the holidays.
